UK Sanctions 9 Individuals, Entities over Syrian Civilian Violence

Britain has imposed sanctions on several individuals and organizations allegedly linked to violence against civilians in Syria. The sanctions, announced Friday, target those accused of undermining peace in the war-torn country.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the United Kingdom has announced sanctions targeting nine individuals and entities allegedly involved in violence against civilians in Syria. The UK Foreign Ministry stated that the sanctions aim to target those who undermine peace efforts in the country.

The sanctions include asset freezes and travel bans, impacting four individuals and three organizations. Additionally, two individuals described as supporters of the previous Syrian government are also included in the sanctions list.

London has recently supported lifting sanctions against the current Syrian government led by President Hafez al-Assad. Prior to the rise of the al-Assad regime, the UK had imposed extensive sanctions on the Syrian people.
