Russia Refuses to Hand Over Bashar al-Assad to Syria in 2025
Russia has stated it will not hand over former Syrian President Bashar al-Assad to Damascus, confirming that Assad has been granted humanitarian asylum in Russia. The announcement was made by Russian Ambassador to Iraq, Alberus Kutrashev.
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Russia has rejected a request from the Julani regime to extradite Bashar al-Assad to Syria. Russian Ambassador to Iraq, Alberus Kutrashev, stated in a television interview that Russia would not hand over the former Syrian president.
Kutrashev confirmed that Russia has granted Assad humanitarian asylum in response to inquiries about the possibility of extraditing Assad to Damascus.
