China Warns US Against Arming Taiwan Amid Rising Tensions

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, China has cautioned the United States against arming Taiwan, citing it as an infringement on China’s sovereignty and a threat to regional stability. Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Guo Jiakun issued the warning on Friday in response to Washington’s continued arms shipments to the island.
“By sending large shipments of weapons to Taiwan, the United States is blatantly interfering in China’s internal affairs, seriously harming China’s sovereignty, security and territorial integrity, and also undermining peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait,” Guo Jiakun stated.
The spokesperson further warned that crossing China’s red lines on the Taiwan issue is unacceptable, and any actions to arm Taiwan will have serious consequences.
Earlier, Taiwan’s Defense Ministry announced that the U.S. government is moving forward with an $11.1 billion arms sale to the island. This package represents the largest arms deal between the U.S. and Taiwan to date. The proposed package includes eight categories of armaments, including HIMARS missile systems, artillery, anti-armor missiles, drones, and related parts for other military equipment, according to a statement from Taiwan’s Defense Ministry.
