Russia Expresses Readiness for Effective Ukraine War Negotiations

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Leonid Slutsky, Chairman of the International Affairs Committee of the Russian State Duma, highlighted Russia’s position in an interview with Al Jazeera, emphasizing the importance of Moscow’s security red lines.
Slutsky noted that Russia remains committed to preserving its national security, despite having presented considerable concessions aimed at resolving the conflict in Ukraine.
“We are prepared to engage in effective negotiations to bring an end to the war in Ukraine,” Slutsky stated, while underscoring Russia’s commitment to protecting its national security interests.
These statements come amid a protracted phase of the Ukraine conflict, where diplomatic efforts to halt the hostilities have yet to yield significant results.
Russia has consistently affirmed its willingness to negotiate, setting conditions such as ensuring national security and recognizing the realities on the ground. Conversely, Ukraine and its Western allies, notably the United States and the European Union, accuse Moscow of lacking genuine commitment to diplomatic solutions. Simultaneously, Western sanctions against Russia continue to intensify.
