US NATO Representative Warns Ukraine to Prepare for Prolonged Conflict Through 2026

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Matthew Whitaker, the US representative to NATO, has warned that Ukraine should brace for ongoing conflict through 2026, citing the unlikelihood of a peace deal being reached this year. Whitaker emphasized that the recent approval of a $105 billion EU loan was intended to fund the continuation of hostilities.
He further noted that without a peace agreement in the coming months, fighting will persist on the frontlines. Multiple rounds of negotiations involving the US, Europe, Ukraine, and Russia have so far failed to yield results. Ukraine’s withdrawal from parts of Donbas remains a key sticking point, with Kyiv refusing to cede the entire region to Moscow despite dropping its NATO membership bid.
