Taliban Calls for Expanded Economic Ties with Regional and Global Partners

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, the acting deputy prime minister for economic affairs of Afghanistan, has called on regional and international countries to expand economic cooperation with Kabul instead of imposing sanctions and pressure. Speaking at a meeting with traders in Balkh province, Baradar stated that a prosperous and strong Afghanistan would benefit, not harm, other nations, contributing to regional stability and economic growth.
Baradar emphasized that Kabul is committed to comprehensive political and international economic engagement, provided mutual respect is upheld. He highlighted the Taliban government’s positive relations with Afghanistan’s private sector, noting favorable conditions for both domestic and foreign investment. “The environment for investment in Afghanistan is conducive, and everyone is welcome to seize this opportunity,” he said.
Several countries have conditioned the expansion of ties with the Taliban-led administration on the holding of elections and the establishment of an inclusive government in Afghanistan.
