UN Chief Urges Immediate Gaza Ceasefire and Political Solution for Palestine
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on Saturday emphasized the urgent need to halt hostilities and establish a clear political vision for Palestine’s future. Speaking without explicitly condemning the ongoing Israeli regime’s aggressions against Gaza, Guterres stated that the endless cycle of violence must be broken, and the Gaza ceasefire must be fully enforced.
Guterres highlighted that the escalating conflict threatens civilian lives and must be stopped immediately. He further stressed that Palestinians, above all, require a ‘new horizon of hope,’ and the ceasefire agreement must be implemented comprehensively and without fail.
The UN chief also underscored the necessity of paving the way for a definitive and ‘irreversible’ two-state solution to achieve lasting peace in the region.
