Iraqi Intelligence Denies Reports of Imminent Military Attack as Baseless

Iraq’s National Intelligence Service has firmly denied recent media claims about an imminent military attack on the country, stating no such warnings were received from foreign governments.
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Iraq‘s National Intelligence Service issued a statement early Sunday categorically denying reports of an impending military attack on the country. The statement refuted claims published by the Al-Sharq Al-Awsat newspaper on Saturday, December 20, 2025, which alleged that Iraq had received warnings from an Arab country and a Western intelligence agency about possible imminent military strikes.
The intelligence agency emphasized that the report was entirely false and confirmed that the Iraqi government had not received any messages with such content. The statement concluded by urging media outlets to exercise caution when reporting on matters related to Iraq’s national security.
