At Least 10 Killed in Johannesburg Shooting Attack
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, a shooting attack in South Africa‘s Bekkersdal area, near Johannesburg, has resulted in at least 10 fatalities and multiple injuries. Unidentified assailants targeted pedestrians in the impoverished mining region, located approximately 40 kilometers southwest of the capital.
Gauteng province police spokesperson Brenda Muridili confirmed the death toll but stated that the victims’ identities remain unknown. At least 10 additional individuals sustained injuries in the assault.
Authorities have not yet determined the motive behind the attack, with investigations ongoing. The incident occurred in an area adjacent to major gold mining operations, though no immediate connection to the industry has been established.
