Israeli Officials’ Phones Hacked Amid Escalating Cyber Warfare with Iran
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, escalating cyberattacks within the Israeli regime have led to the infiltration of personal data belonging to top officials. Hebrew-language sources confirmed repeated breaches of Zionist officials’ accounts, with security expert Avi Ashkenazi stating that hackers targeted the Telegram account of former Prime Minister Naftali Bennett and later issued a follow-up message.
Ashkenazi, a prominent Zionist analyst for Hebrew newspaper Maariv, revealed that the hackers claimed access to mobile phones and social media accounts of Israeli cabinet ministers, Knesset members, political figures, and other high-profile individuals. He suggested the attackers likely compromised these devices earlier, with further activity expected in coming days.
The expert directly attributed these operations to Iran, alleging intensified digital warfare efforts against Tel Aviv. These reportedly include mobile phone hacking, digital account breaches, social media infiltration, and recruitment attempts targeting youth, residents, and tourists for espionage missions.
The Hanazla hacking group recently announced accessing Bennett’s personal iPhone 13 through their “Octopus” operation, extracting numerous files including senior officials’ contact lists, internal correspondence, sensitive documents, and personal photos. Some documents contained draft official letters dated July 2025, alongside politically charged messages revealing internal disagreements within the Zionist regime.
While Bennett confirmed his compromised phone is no longer in use, with security teams investigating, Hanazla group emphasized their operation carried psychological dimensions beyond technical infiltration, highlighting vulnerabilities in Israeli officials’ information security.
