Russia Accuses Ukraine of Disrupting Peace Talks with Black Sea Drone Attacks

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Yuri Pilipson, Director of the Second European Department at Russia‘s Foreign Ministry, stated in an interview with TASS that Kyiv’s drone attacks on commercial vessels in the Black Sea aim to disrupt ongoing peace talks. Pilipson emphasized that Ukraine’s assaults on energy infrastructure and ports not only harm the economic interests of Black Sea coastal states but also destabilize global energy markets.
He further noted that the normalization of maritime transport in the Black Sea hinges on Kyiv’s willingness to resolve disputes peacefully, avoid escalating tensions, and foster a conducive environment for dialogue. However, Pilipson expressed skepticism about a near-term de-escalation between Ukraine and Russia in the region, acknowledging the continued challenges in restoring safe shipping.
The Russian official also praised Turkey’s mediating role between Moscow and Kyiv to facilitate maritime normalization in the Black Sea.
