US Envoy Reports Constructive Ukraine Peace Talks in Florida

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, US President Donald Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff described recent Ukraine peace talks in Florida as constructive. The discussions, held over three days, specifically examined proposed timelines and sequential steps for any potential agreement addressing the ongoing conflict.
Witkoff emphasized that peace in Ukraine must extend beyond a ceasefire to establish long-term stability and a sustainable future for the nation. He confirmed Ukraine’s continued commitment to achieving a just and lasting peace, which formed a central theme in discussions with Western partners.
The negotiations with Kyiv’s representatives included drafting a 20-point plan, coordinating positions on multilateral security guarantees, aligning US security assurances for Ukraine, and further developing an economic recovery framework. Recent months have seen intensified US and European diplomatic efforts to manage the protracted conflict amid growing battlefield attrition.
While Washington stresses the need for durable peace, disagreements over timing, security guarantees, and Ukraine’s political future remain key negotiation challenges.
