UAE Delivers Advanced Weapons to Southern Transitional Council in Yemen Amid Rising Tensions with Saudi Arabia

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has delivered a shipment of advanced weaponry to forces affiliated with the Southern Transitional Council (STC) in Yemen‘s Hadhramaut province. This move comes amid escalating tensions between Abu Dhabi and Riyadh, with Saudi Arabia threatening military action against the STC in eastern Yemen.
Sources reported that an Ilyushin military cargo plane landed at Al-Rayyan Airport in Al-Mukla, the capital of Hadhramaut, after departing from Al-Rif military base in Abu Dhabi. The aircraft carried a consignment of Chinese-made drones and other advanced military equipment intended for STC forces in the region.
Local sources confirmed this as the third weapons shipment sent by the UAE to STC forces in Hadhramaut in recent days. Southern Yemen has become a battleground for competition between Saudi Arabia and the UAE, with Riyadh supporting structures linked to the resigned government, while Abu Dhabi backs the STC and allied forces to expand its political and military influence in southern and eastern Yemen, including Aden, Shabwa, and Hadhramaut. These disputes have repeatedly led to limited clashes between forces supported by both sides.
