Saudi Arabia Awards Top Honor to Pakistan’s Army Chief

Saudi Defense Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman presented the King Abdulaziz Medal of Excellence to Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir during a ceremony in Riyadh, highlighting strengthened defense ties between the two nations.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Saudi Arabia has conferred its highest national honor, the King Abdulaziz Medal of Excellence, upon Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir. The award ceremony took place in Riyadh, where Saudi Defense Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz honored the Pakistani military leader for his outstanding contributions to bilateral relations.

The King Abdulaziz Medal is awarded to individuals who have rendered exceptional service to Saudi Arabia or its institutions. During the meeting, both officials emphasized the historical ties, strategic defense cooperation, regional security, and counterterrorism efforts between the two countries. They also discussed matters related to international peace and security.

Prince Khalid bin Salman praised General Munir’s pivotal role in enhancing defense collaboration, strategic coordination, and institutional linkages between Islamabad and Riyadh in a post on social media platform X. This recognition follows the signing of a strategic bilateral defense agreement earlier this year, which includes provisions for mutual military assistance during wartime.
