Iraqi Expert: US Cannot Dissolve Popular Mobilization Forces

An Iraqi political expert asserts that the US lacks the authority to disband the Popular Mobilization Forces, emphasizing their integral role in Iraq’s official security apparatus.
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Iraqi political expert Mohammed Al-Dari stated that the United States cannot dissolve the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) as they are a formal part of Iraq’s military and security institutions. Al-Dari condemned US interference in Iraq’s internal affairs, calling it unacceptable and damaging to the country’s security framework. He warned that such actions undermine Iraq’s stability and sovereignty, stressing that the PMF can only be dissolved through the same legal processes applicable to other security entities like the army and police.
