Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov Pledges Support to Venezuela in Phone Talks with Counterpart
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov held a telephone conversation with Venezuela’s Foreign Minister Yvan Gil on Monday. The discussion focused on strengthening bilateral ties and addressing international sanctions imposed on Venezuela.
Lavrov reiterated Russia’s commitment to supporting Venezuela in overcoming economic challenges caused by external sanctions. He emphasized Moscow’s readiness to provide comprehensive assistance to Caracas in various fields, including political and economic cooperation.
The talks between the two diplomats come amid ongoing efforts by both nations to counter Western pressure and expand their strategic partnership. Russia and Venezuela have maintained close relations in recent years, particularly in energy and defense sectors.
