Presidents of Russia and Kazakhstan Meet in St. Petersburg to Strengthen Bilateral Ties
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the Russian Presidential Office announced on Monday that President Vladimir Putin met with his Kazakh counterpart, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, in St. Petersburg. The meeting highlighted the strengthening of bilateral relations and collaborative efforts within regional organizations.
President Tokayev described 2025 as a successful year for Kazakhstan-Russia relations, stating that cooperation with Moscow remains a top priority for Astana. He noted that the two nations have achieved significant progress in bilateral engagements and within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union.
President Putin emphasized the importance of continued dialogue, stating, ‘We have been working together since yesterday, and today we have the opportunity to discuss our activities within the Collective Security Treaty Organization and the Commonwealth of Independent States, as well as bilateral issues.’
The leaders reviewed a wide range of topics and adopted decisions aimed at enhancing economic and security cooperation. Both presidents expressed confidence in the upward trajectory of their countries’ relationship.
