Hamas Leader Osama Hamdan Rejects Disarmament, Calls It U.S.-Israeli Project

Osama Hamdan, a senior Hamas official, has dismissed any discussion of disarming the resistance, stating that resistance weapons are legitimate as long as occupation persists, and warned that U.S. hegemony aims to disarm the region except for Israel.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Osama Hamdan, a leader of the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), has firmly rejected any talks about surrendering resistance weapons, asserting their legitimacy in the face of ongoing occupation. In an interview with Al-Masira, Hamdan emphasized that resistance arms are lawful and will remain as long as Israeli occupation continues.

Hamdan accused the U.S. of seeking to impose its hegemonic project on the region, with the Zionist regime serving as its central pillar. He stated that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is fully aware that the core of this U.S. project is to disarm the region, leaving no weapons except those of Israel, a move directly serving the realization of what is termed ‘Greater Israel.’

Warning of the consequences, Hamdan stressed that disarming the resistance would open the gates for the seizure of vast Islamic territories and ultimately establish the Zionist regime as the sole military power in the region.
