Top Security Official in Israel Resigns Amid Crisis

David Zini, head of Israel’s Shin Bet security agency, has accepted the resignation of his deputy following reports of a crisis of trust between the two officials.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, David Zini, the head of Shin Bet, Israel‘s internal security service, has accepted the resignation of his deputy. The deputy, whose name was not disclosed, is set to conclude his 30-year tenure in the position in the near future.

Hebrew-language media outlets reported that the resignation followed a crisis of trust between the deputy and Zini. The Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth also noted that the resignation was linked to disagreements between the two officials.

It is worth noting that the Israeli cabinet approved Zini’s appointment as head of the agency on September 30, despite opposition from former officials of the security service.
