Hadi al-Amiri Denies Rumors of Popular Mobilization Forces Dissolution

Hadi al-Amiri, Secretary-General of Iraq’s Badr Organization, dismissed rumors of the Popular Mobilization Forces’ dissolution, emphasizing Iraq’s opposition to foreign interference in disarmament decisions.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Hadi al-Amiri, Secretary-General of Iraq‘s Badr Organization, has firmly denied rumors regarding the dissolution of the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF), stating that such claims are baseless and unacceptable. Al-Amiri emphasized that disarmament is a sovereign Iraqi decision, rejecting any foreign interference in the matter.

He reiterated the religious authority’s stance on the monopoly of weapons by the state, affirming his unwavering belief in this principle. Al-Amiri further linked the centralization of arms under government control to the complete withdrawal of the international coalition and the full realization of national sovereignty.

Regarding Iraq’s political landscape, al-Amiri expressed confidence that the parliament’s first session would not be reopened, assuring that the speaker and deputies would be elected. He also highlighted the inclusive nature of the government, asserting that all groups would participate, and its success would benefit everyone involved.
