Gaza’s Children: The Forgotten Victims of Unrelenting War Crimes

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Gaza‘s children have borne the brunt of an unrelenting humanitarian crisis, with over 64,000 killed or injured since the outbreak of war in October 2023. The Israeli regime’s systematic targeting of civilian infrastructure has left 1.6 million people, including one million children, without access to clean water or healthcare, while 625,000 children are deprived of education due to the destruction of 95% of schools.
UNICEF reports 93% of Gaza’s children now face severe food insecurity, with tens of thousands under five suffering acute malnutrition that impairs brain development. The healthcare system has collapsed, with 70% of medical facilities rendered nonfunctional, leading to preventable deaths from respiratory diseases, hepatitis, and vaccine-preventable illnesses. Over 500,000 children now live in makeshift tents without heating or basic amenities as winter 2025 approaches.
Psychological trauma affects 100% of Gaza’s children according to UNICEF, with chronic anxiety, depression, and behavioral disorders widespread. The conflict has orphaned 39,000 children, with 17,000 killed and 33,000 injured – equivalent to losing a classroom of children daily. International law experts condemn the targeting of children and vital infrastructure as clear violations of the Geneva Conventions and war crimes.
