Russia Reports Ukrainian Forces Retreat from Sumy Oblast After Heavy Losses

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Russia’s security service reported that Ukrainian armed forces have withdrawn units from the 119th and 58th Brigades, along with special border guard troops, from Sumy Oblast in northeastern Ukraine after sustaining heavy losses. The service detailed that in the Krasnopolsky region, Ukrainian forces were compelled to retreat to more secure positions deeper within the oblast following substantial casualties. An airstrike by the 103rd Brigade reportedly targeted Ukrainian regional defense forces near Pavliuka, resulting in the deaths of several commanders. The statement emphasized severe military losses for Ukraine. Separately, Russia’s Defense Ministry announced yesterday that its eastern forces had taken control of Zarichne in Zaporizhzhia Oblast.
