Russia Secretly Mediates Security Agreement Between Israel and Syrian Faction with US Approval

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Israeli sources allege that Russia is secretly mediating a security agreement between the Israeli regime and the Syrian faction led by Abu Mohammad al-Julani, with US approval. The negotiations are reportedly being hosted in Azerbaijan, with high-ranking officials from both sides frequently traveling to Baku.
Zionist media outlets, citing informed security sources, emphasized that despite Russia’s mediation, significant differences remain between the parties, though progress has been made in recent weeks. Reports indicate that Moscow and Damascus are strengthening their relations, with Russia recently deploying military personnel and equipment to the coastal region of Latakia.
Israeli sources further noted that Tel Aviv prefers Russia, rather than Turkey, to oversee the deployment of forces in southern Syria. In a related development, Asaad al-Sheibani, the foreign minister of the al-Julani-led faction, visited Moscow last Wednesday, meeting with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov. Al-Sheibani stated the visit aimed to elevate bilateral relations to a strategic level.
