China Strongly Condemns US Defense Report and Warns Japan Over Provocations
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, China has issued a sharp rebuke against the United States’ latest defense report, accusing it of misrepresenting Beijing’s defense strategy. The Chinese Foreign Ministry stated its firm opposition to the report, which was released by the Pentagon yesterday following a request from the US Congress to assess China’s military threats.
The report claims that as China’s military becomes more advanced and resilient, it adopts a cautious approach toward major agreements with the US, potentially making American soil more vulnerable. It alleges that China, while increasing pressure on Taiwan, has also drawn lessons from Russia’s setbacks in the Ukraine war.
Additionally, China’s Defense Ministry warned Japan of resolute countermeasures against any ‘harassing and provocative actions.’ The Pentagon report further revealed that China plans to build six additional aircraft carriers by 2035.
