Advisor to Al-Julani Accuses SDF of Failing to Honor March 10 Agreement Amid Escalating Tensions

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Ahmad Muaffaq Zaidan, a media advisor to Abu Mohammad al-Julani, the self-proclaimed president of Syria, stated that options regarding the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) have become severely limited. He emphasized that the SDF must take responsibility for not fulfilling its obligations under the March 10 agreement, which was signed with the mediation of international actors, including Turkey and the U.S.
Zaidan claimed that domestic consensus around Syria’s “new covenant” was evident during the anniversary of the first “victory,” while international support for a “new Syria” focused on reconstruction and development continues to grow.
The March 10 agreement, signed between the Al-Julani regime and the SDF, aimed to regulate security and administrative relations in northern and northeastern Syria under international oversight. However, the Al-Julani regime has repeatedly accused the SDF of delaying and failing to implement the agreement, warning of the consequences.
Recent armed clashes between Al-Julani-affiliated forces and the SDF in Aleppo have escalated, resulting in casualties in the Al-Ashrafiyah and Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhoods. Both sides blame each other for initiating the violence, and while a tension-reduction agreement has reportedly been reached, pressure for full compliance with the March 10 deal persists.
