Jordanian Warplane Conducts Airstrike on Suspected Arms Depot in Southern Syria

A Jordanian warplane reportedly targeted a sports complex in southern Syria’s Al-Suwayda province, allegedly used as a weapons depot by rebel groups, following similar operations against drug and arms traffickers.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, a Jordanian warplane carried out an airstrike on a sports complex east of Al-Kafr town in southern Syria‘s Al-Suwayda province on Thursday evening. Turkish news agency Anadolu reported the attack, citing local sources.

Syrian state-affiliated Al-Ikhbariya network stated that rebel groups had been using the facility as a weapons storage site. This strike comes just one day after Jordan’s military operations against drug and arms trafficking networks in the same border region.

The Jordanian Armed Forces had previously announced coordinated strikes on drug production and weapons storage facilities in Al-Suwayda, claiming these actions were based on precise intelligence and regional cooperation. No official statements have been issued by either Syrian or Jordanian authorities regarding the latest incident.
