US Conducts Airstrikes Against ISIS Targets in Northwestern Nigeria

President Donald Trump announced that US forces carried out multiple powerful airstrikes against remaining ISIS militants in Nigeria, vowing further action if attacks on Christians continue.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, US President Donald Trump confirmed that American forces executed several deadly airstrikes targeting what he described as “the remnants of the terrorist organization ISIS” in northwestern Nigeria. Trump pledged additional strikes if militants continue their violent campaign against Christian communities.

In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump stated, “Tonight, under my orders as Commander-in-Chief, the United States conducted a powerful and lethal strike against ISIS terrorists in northwestern Nigeria—terrorists who have been brutally targeting and killing innocent Christians at levels unseen in the country for years, even centuries.” He warned the militants of severe consequences if the violence persists.

The Pentagon, through Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, affirmed its readiness to act, stating that ISIS “learned this lesson tonight and on Christmas.” Hegseth emphasized continued collaboration with Nigerian authorities, confirming the strikes resulted in multiple ISIS casualties. Nigeria’s Foreign Ministry also acknowledged ongoing security cooperation with the US.
