Netanyahu’s Upcoming Meeting with Trump Critical for Gaza’s Future, Axios Reports

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the American website Axios reported that U.S. President Donald Trump plans to release several statements regarding Gaza in early January. However, subsequent actions concerning the region’s future hinge on his Monday meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at Mar-a-Lago.
Axios cited a Zionist official stating that White House officials believe Netanyahu is slow-walking the Gaza peace process. The Israeli Prime Minister hopes to align Trump’s views more closely with his own radical perspectives.
According to the report, the White House aims to implement the second phase of the Gaza ceasefire agreement, potentially convening a Gaza Peace Council on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos this January.
Axios also referenced Netanyahu’s recent meeting with influential Republican Senator Lindsey Graham, noting that the Israeli Prime Minister expressed skepticism about the ideas of senior U.S. negotiators Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner during their discussion.
The American media outlet described the Mar-a-Lago meeting as pivotal for determining Gaza’s future, adding that it remains unclear whether Trump will follow Witkoff and Kushner’s proposals or if Netanyahu will succeed in swaying him toward his preferred approach.
Axios further reported that one of the key messages Trump and his team are expected to emphasize during the meeting is that he must distance himself from war and focus on peace.
Zionist regime media had previously announced that Netanyahu would meet Trump at Mar-a-Lago, the U.S. President’s Florida residence, on Monday afternoon (December 29).
