Yemen’s Southern Transitional Council Condemns Saudi Airstrikes, Vows to Pursue Rights

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the Southern Transitional Council (STC) of Yemen, supported by the United Arab Emirates, has strongly criticized Saudi Arabia’s airstrikes on its positions in Hadramout province. The STC emphasized that these attacks will not hinder the people of southern Yemen from reclaiming their ‘full rights’ and reiterated its willingness to engage in security agreements with Saudi Arabia.
In a statement, the STC declared that the Saudi-led airstrikes in Hadramout would not advance any path toward understanding. The council also stressed its readiness for any coordination or arrangements based on ensuring the security and integrity of southern Yemen, preventing the resurgence of security threats. These measures, it added, must align with the expectations and will of the southern people and shared interests with their Saudi counterparts.
Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Ministry recently expressed concern over the STC’s unilateral military movements in Hadramout and Al-Mahra provinces, which were conducted without coordination with Yemen’s Presidential Council or the Saudi-led coalition command. The ministry described these actions as detrimental to Yemeni interests, undermining the coalition’s efforts in the region.
