Al-Azhar Condemns Terrorist Attack at Imam Ali Mosque in Syria

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Al-Azhar in Egypt has condemned the terrorist attack that targeted the Imam Ali Mosque in Homs, Syria, during Friday prayers. In a statement, Al-Azhar described the bombing as a blatant disregard for the sanctity of human life and religious sites, asserting that the perpetrators lack any semblance of religion, humanity, or morality.
The statement urged Syrians to set aside sectarian and tribal differences and unite against such violent acts, which threaten the stability and security of their country. The attack, which occurred last night, was claimed by the extremist group Saraya Ansar al-Sunna, which also took responsibility for a previous assault on a church in Damascus in June.
Meanwhile, Hamza al-Mustafa, a minister in Syria’s self-proclaimed government, accused ISIS of orchestrating the terrorist operation in Homs. Local sources reported that the explosion in the Alawite-majority neighborhood of Wadi al-Dhahab resulted in eight fatalities and 18 injuries.
