Iran’s Ambassador to Iraq Exposes US Espionage Activities Against Iran

Iran’s Ambassador to Iraq, Mohammad Kazem Al Sadegh, revealed that US aircraft are conducting surveillance and reconnaissance operations against Iran from within Iraq, while reaffirming Iran’s readiness to counter any actions by the Zionist regime.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Iran‘s Ambassador to Iraq, Mohammad Kazem Al Sadegh, has disclosed that US aircraft are engaged in surveillance and reconnaissance activities targeting Iran from Iraqi airspace. In an interview with the Iraqi Al-Tagheer TV network, Al Sadegh emphasized Iran’s preparedness to counter any potential threats from the Zionist regime.

Al Sadegh also addressed the characterization of Iraqi resistance groups as Iranian proxies, calling such descriptions an insult. He clarified that while Iran supported these groups during the fight against ISIS, their current autonomy means they make independent decisions. Iran respects the Iraqi government’s requests but will continue to engage with any entity that upholds the rights of the resistance.

Regarding Iraq’s political landscape, Al Sadegh stated that Tehran is ready to support the current Iraqi government if formally requested. He highlighted Iran’s friendly relations with all political parties and praised the recent elections as a demonstration of the people’s vigilance. On the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, he noted positive ongoing relations and commended its honorable stance during the 12-day war.

Al Sadegh also touched on Iran’s financial assets in Iraqi banks, acknowledging difficulties in accessing them but noting progress under Prime Minister Al-Sudani’s government. He expressed Iran’s support for a strong and sovereign Iraq, emphasizing the importance of bilateral trade, which exceeded $12 billion last year, despite US obstacles.

The ambassador criticized US for unjustified diplomatic moves, including the appointment of a special envoy to Iraq, and reiterated Iran’s call for a security agreement among Persian Gulf states. He condemned any normalization of relations with the Zionist regime, which is criminalized in Iraq.

Al Sadegh described the Al-Aqsa Storm operation as a natural response to the blockade of Gaza and affirmed the continued role of the Axis of Resistance in the region. He denied allegations about Iran’s nuclear weapons program, citing religious edicts against such arms.
