Zionist Media Reports on Impending Netanyahu-Jolani Meeting Amid Security Talks
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Zionist media, citing a Syrian source close to Abu Mohammad al-Jolani, head of the Syrian regime, have reported substantial advancements in covert negotiations between Syria and Israel. The talks aim to reach a security agreement, which may be signed imminently.
The Zionist channel ‘i24 News’ stated that recent weeks have seen major progress, with discussions of a potential high-level Syrian-Israeli meeting in a European country to formally sign the accord. The source emphasized that this development is largely due to the ‘extensive efforts of US President Donald Trump.’
The anticipated agreement may include a diplomatic annex alongside security arrangements, with speculation that it could be finalized during a direct meeting between al-Jolani and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad al-Sheibani last month stated that Damascus expects to reach a security agreement with Tel Aviv before year-end, based on the 1974 Separation of Forces Agreement with ‘minor modifications’ and no new buffer zones.
Meanwhile, Tel Aviv continues to reject Damascus’s demand for the Zionist army to withdraw from all territories seized inside Syria after the fall of Bashar al-Assad. Zionist sources via ‘i24 News’ suggest the army may retreat from some of the nine points it currently controls, but only if a full peace deal is signed, not merely a security agreement.
