France Condemns Israeli Shooting That Injured UNIFIL Soldier in Lebanon

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement on Saturday condemning an Israeli shooting that injured a UNIFIL peacekeeper in southern Lebanon. The incident occurred when heavy machine gun fire from Israeli occupation forces targeted a UNIFIL patrol inspecting a checkpoint in the village of Bsatra.
The United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) reported that Israeli forces opened automatic weapon fire near two of its patrols in the region. The confrontation followed an earlier explosion of a hand grenade in the area, which left one UNIFIL soldier wounded.
UNIFIL reiterated its demand for Israel to cease its aggressive behavior following the incident. The clash marks another escalation in tensions along the Blue Line border area.
