Canadian PM Carney Meets Ukrainian President Zelenskyy, Discusses Peace Prospects and Aid

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney held talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Ottawa on Saturday, discussing the ongoing conflict in Ukraine and potential pathways to peace. Carney stated that peace in Ukraine remains possible but stressed the need to pressure Russia to reach a settlement. He also announced Canada’s commitment to provide $2.5 billion in economic assistance to Ukraine.
In contrast, President Zelenskyy accused Russian President Vladimir Putin of being unwilling to seek peace, declaring, ‘Putin does not want peace; we must put pressure on Russia. We want peace, but Putin is a man of war.’ The meeting comes ahead of Zelenskyy’s scheduled discussion with U.S. President Donald Trump tomorrow.
