Turkey Detains ISIS Operative Plotting New Year Attack in Malatya

Turkish intelligence has arrested an ISIS member planning a major attack during New Year celebrations in Malatya, while Istanbul prosecutors thwarted large-scale terrorist plots targeting Christmas and New Year events.
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Turkey‘s National Intelligence Organization (MIT) has captured a member of the ISIS terrorist group in Malatya, southern Turkey. The counterintelligence service reported the suspect was preparing a significant attack during the country’s New Year festivities.
In a separate development, Istanbul’s Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office announced the neutralization of ISIS plots to carry out major terrorist attacks during Christmas and New Year celebrations. Counter-terrorism teams conducted extensive security operations under judicial supervision, pursuing 137 suspects in the crackdown.
