Israel Recognizes Somaliland to Secure Strategic Interests Amid Regional Tensions

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, former Egyptian military official and strategic affairs expert Samir Faraj disclosed that Israel recognized Somaliland after realizing it could no longer solely rely on its air defense systems in Eilat. Faraj emphasized that Israel faced blockades during the 1973 war and recent conflicts involving Yemen’s Ansar Allah forces near the Bab el-Mandeb strait.
Faraj explained that Tel Aviv sought a solution to counter threats targeting the port of Eilat, ultimately leveraging Somaliland as a strategic foothold. Israel plans to provide economic and military aid to Somaliland to strengthen its presence in the region. Prime Minister Netanyahu is reportedly exploiting current conditions to relocate Palestinians from Gaza to Somaliland, further consolidating control over the Bab el-Mandeb and the Suez Canal.
The expert warned that Israel’s actions threaten Egypt’s national security, prompting anticipated measures to counter Zionist presence and prevent the displacement of Palestinians to the region.
