UAE-Backed Southern Transitional Council Engages in Secret Talks with Israel to Support Yemen Secession

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the Southern Transitional Council (STC) has reportedly engaged in intensive secret communications with Israeli officials to garner international backing for its secessionist project in southern Yemen. In return, the STC would recognize Israel’s occupation policies, as revealed by Hebrew sources cited by the Arabiya news network.
The covert contacts allegedly began after the STC took control of Yemen’s Hadramout and Al-Mahra provinces, under directives from the UAE to expand Israel’s regional influence. Analysts suggest these developments reflect broader efforts to solidify foreign presence and sway internal political processes in Yemen.
Established in 2017 with Emirati support, the STC currently governs parts of southern Yemen, including Aden, Hadramout, and Al-Mahra. The council has repeatedly sought to strengthen ties with regional and global powers to advance its separatist agenda. Previous reports have also documented the STC’s attempts to secure political support from Western and regional nations.
