Gaza Faces Humanitarian Crisis as Winter Rains Flood Refugee Tents

Heavy winter rains have submerged thousands of tents in Gaza, exacerbating the humanitarian crisis amid ongoing displacement and destruction from over two years of conflict with Israel, according to UN relief agencies.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, severe winter rains in Gaza have flooded thousands of tents housing displaced families, worsening the already dire humanitarian situation following more than two years of war with Israel. The UN Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) has warned that inadequate shelter, dwindling humanitarian assistance, and freezing temperatures are putting millions of Palestinians at greater risk than ever before.

The conflict, which began over two years ago with a large-scale offensive by the Israeli regime, has resulted in the deaths of more than 70,000 Palestinians and left approximately 170,000 injured. Despite a current ceasefire, living conditions in Gaza remain critical and unstable, with displaced families now facing the added hardship of winter weather.
