Israel, Greece, and Cyprus Sign Military Cooperation Agreement Amid Rising Tensions in Eastern Mediterranean

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Israel, Greece, and Cyprus have formalized a military cooperation agreement, marking a significant step in their strategic alliance. The agreement includes plans for joint military exercises and high-level defense discussions, as confirmed by a spokesperson for the Israeli military.
The deal, signed during an Israeli delegation’s visit to Cyprus, has been framed by Israeli state radio as a trilateral military coalition aimed at countering Turkey. This development follows recent criticism from the Prime Minister of Northern Cyprus, who accused Israel of pursuing hostile policies and undermining human rights in the region.
The Northern Cypriot leader further alleged that Israel seeks to export tensions to the Eastern Mediterranean, accusing the three nations of prioritizing military escalation over peace. Southern Cyprus, he claimed, is engaging in duplicitous behavior by simultaneously advocating for a resolution to the Cyprus issue while forming anti-Turkish military alliances.
The agreement comes shortly after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met with his Greek counterpart and the Cypriot President in occupied Jerusalem. According to reports, the three nations are planning to establish a rapid reaction force comprising 2,500 ground, air, and naval personnel to be stationed across Greek islands, Cyprus, and occupied territories.
