Zelenskyy Announces Ukraine’s Readiness for Peace Following Talks with US President Trump

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed gratitude for US support and confirmed progress in peace negotiations during a meeting with US President Donald Trump in Miami, stating that Ukraine is prepared for peace.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy praised US President Donald Trump and his negotiation team following their meeting in Miami, as detailed in a post on his personal X account. Zelenskyy emphasized Ukraine‘s readiness for peace and acknowledged significant progress in discussions.

Zelenskyy stated, ‘I thank the US for its support of Ukraine. Together, we can move toward peace.’ He elaborated on the meeting, noting that all aspects of a peace agreement were reviewed, yielding substantial results. Discussions also covered next steps, with both sides agreeing that security guarantees are a key element in achieving lasting peace. Negotiation teams will continue working on all dimensions of the agreement.

The Ukrainian president confirmed that teams would meet as early as next week to finalize details. Additionally, he and Trump agreed that the US would host Ukrainian and European leaders in Washington in January.

Zelenskyy reiterated Ukraine’s commitment to peace, revealing that 90% of a 20-point peace plan had been agreed upon, including full consensus on military and security guarantees. He also affirmed the possibility of referendums on any aspect of the peace plan, stressing that the decision ultimately lies with the Ukrainian people.

Responding to Trump’s remark that ‘Russia wants Ukraine to succeed,’ Zelenskyy called it unexpected but indicative of a positive atmosphere for negotiations and potential cooperation in Ukraine’s reconstruction and development.
