Venezuela’s Maduro Questions U.S. and Israel’s Actions in Gaza During New Year Address

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro sharply criticized the ongoing violence in Gaza and U.S. pressure on Venezuela during his New Year address to the nation’s armed forces. “Does killing children in Gaza align with the teachings of Christ?” Maduro asked, challenging the moral justification of Israel’s military campaign.
Maduro also denounced U.S. threats against Christian nations like Venezuela, questioning whether Christ would approve of such actions. He praised Venezuela’s armed forces for their courage in facing American aggression, declaring that 2025 has seen the consolidation of Venezuela’s national power – not through rhetoric but through concrete achievements.
The Venezuelan leader highlighted his country’s growing cultural and spiritual strength, noting that Venezuelan children now feel they no longer live in a colonized nation. Maduro commended national efforts to boost Venezuela’s political, military, economic, and scientific capabilities, calling for continued active resistance against external pressures.
These statements come as the U.S. maintains economic and military pressure on Venezuela, which Caracas views as an attempt to control the region’s oil resources.
