Israeli President’s Office Denies Trump’s Claim About Netanyahu Pardon

The office of Israeli President Isaac Herzog has denied U.S. President Donald Trump’s claim that Herzog recently informed him a pardon for former Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was ‘in process,’ stating no such conversation occurred.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the office of Israeli President Isaac Herzog has refuted U.S. President Donald Trump’s assertion that Herzog recently told him a pardon for former Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was underway. A statement from Herzog’s office clarified that no discussions between the two leaders had taken place since Netanyahu’s pardon request was submitted.

The statement noted that Herzog had a conversation weeks ago with a representative of Trump, who contacted him regarding a letter from the U.S. president. The letter, sent in November, formally requested Herzog to pardon Netanyahu, who had submitted his official clemency appeal late that same month. Herzog’s office emphasized that the request remains under review in accordance with legal procedures.

During the call with Trump’s aide, Herzog’s office explained the status of the pardon request and reiterated that any decision would follow standard legal protocols. The clarification mirrored Herzog’s previous public statements on the matter.
