Zelensky Insists Ukrainian Territory Cannot Be Ceded Without Referendum

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, in an interview with Fox News, acknowledged that Russia has annexed approximately 3,000 square kilometers of Ukrainian territory annually but has suffered 400,000 military casualties in return. Zelensky emphasized that 200,000 people reside in the disputed regions, making a public vote essential before any territorial concessions can be considered.
Zelensky accused Russian President Vladimir Putin of untrustworthiness and stressed that Ukraine cannot achieve victory in the war without U.S. support. He further stated that the Ukrainian people must have a say in any peace plan through a referendum.
The Ukrainian president concluded by asserting that retreating from Ukrainian territory is legally impermissible, prompting his proposal for a special economic zone with unique regulations as an alternative solution.
