Russia Vows Retaliation After Ukraine’s Alleged Attack on Putin’s Residence

Russia has dismissed Ukraine’s denial of targeting President Vladimir Putin’s residence, warning of a ‘reciprocal response’ to what it calls Kyiv’s terrorist actions, as tensions escalate between the two nations.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova has accused Ukraine of lying about not targeting President Vladimir Putin’s residence during a recent drone attack. In an interview with Russia-1 TV, Zakharova rejected Kyiv’s claims and warned of retaliatory measures.

Zakharova stated that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is attempting to falsely accuse Moscow of deception. She emphasized that Kyiv would face consequences for what Russia considers terrorist activities. The spokeswoman went further by comparing Zelenskyy to a mercenary trying to conceal his crimes.

The Russian official claimed that Zelenskyy has previously sabotaged peace negotiations because, in her words, ‘they don’t need peace.’ Zakharova alleged that Ukrainian leaders receive payment not for peace efforts but for continuing violence and bloodshed.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov told reporters on Monday that Ukraine had launched a terrorist attack using 91 drones against Putin’s residence in the Novgorod region. According to Lavrov, all drones were destroyed by air defense systems, with no reports of casualties or damage.
