China Orders 55 Airbus Jets in Multi-Billion Dollar Deals

According to the Economic Desk of Webangah News Agency, Spring Airlines has agreed to purchase 30 A320neo aircraft at a price not exceeding $4.13 billion, with batch deliveries planned from 2028 through 2032. Separately, Shanghai-based Juneyao Airlines announced its intention to sign an agreement with Airbus for 25 A320 family jets, valued at approximately $4.1 billion based on list prices, with similar delivery timelines.
Regulatory filings from both airlines at the Shanghai Stock Exchange indicate that both contracts remain subject to government approvals. Airbus has been negotiating since 2024 to secure orders for 500 jets from China, having recently obtained Chinese approval for delivering 120 previously ordered aircraft while anticipating additional new orders.
