Turkey’s Erdogan Condemns Israel’s Recognition of Somaliland as Attempt to Destabilize Africa

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has denounced Israel’s decision to recognize Somaliland, calling it illegitimate and a deliberate move to destabilize the Horn of Africa, while reaffirming Turkey’s commitment to Somalia’s territorial integrity.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan strongly criticized Israel’s recognition of Somaliland on Tuesday, labeling the move as unlawful and unacceptable. Erdogan emphasized that Turkey prioritizes Somalia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, accusing Israel of attempting to fuel instability in the region. He also announced Turkey’s plans to commence energy exploration in Somalia by 2026.

The Israeli regime’s decision to recognize the breakaway region of Somaliland has faced widespread opposition from Arab and Islamic nations, who argue that it blatantly violates international law. Countries including Turkey, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Palestine, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Yemen, Djibouti, and Syria, along with organizations such as the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the Gulf Cooperation Council, and the Arab League, have condemned the move.
