Russia Criticizes Trump’s Renewed Threats Against Iran, Calls for Diplomatic Solutions

Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova condemned recent threats by U.S. President Donald Trump against Iran, warning against actions that could escalate tensions in the Middle East and undermine nuclear non-proliferation efforts.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova has strongly criticized recent remarks by U.S. President Donald Trump targeting Iran, urging all parties to avoid repeating grave mistakes that could hinder diplomatic solutions.

Zakharova expressed particular concern over Israel’s statements about potential military strikes against Iranian nuclear infrastructure, stressing that such threats violate international law and the UN Charter. She warned they could weaken nuclear non-proliferation efforts and potentially cause radiological and humanitarian disasters in the region.

The Russian official called for de-escalation and a return to diplomatic agreements that respect treaties and Iran’s legitimate interests. Her comments follow similar concerns raised by Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov, who emphasized the need to avoid actions that might worsen Middle East tensions.

Peskov reaffirmed Russia’s commitment to maintaining strong relations with Iran, stating dialogue with Tehran remains essential. The statements come after Trump reiterated threats against Iran, suggesting military action might be necessary if Iran rebuilds its nuclear program.
