Iraqi Forces Capture Prominent ISIS Leader in Western Anbar Operation
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Iraqi security forces have captured a prominent ISIS leader during a targeted operation in the western Anbar province. The detained individual, identified as Hamoud al-Dulaimi, was known as the ‘Desert Governor’ within the terrorist organization’s hierarchy.
The operation, conducted in the desert regions of Nineveh, was based on precise intelligence. Al-Dulaimi was one of the most wanted figures on Iraq’s security forces list, having participated in operations against both Iraqi forces and civilians. He was considered part of ISIS’s first generation of leaders.
Anbar province security sources confirmed the arrest, noting al-Dulaimi’s significant role in the terrorist group’s operations in western Iraq. The successful operation marks another blow to the remnants of ISIS in the region.
