Russia Dismisses European and Ukrainian Peace Proposals as Ineffective, No Trilateral Talks Planned

Russian Presidential Aide Yuri Ushakov stated that European and Ukrainian peace proposals fail to advance long-term stability, while confirming no trilateral talks with the U.S. and Ukraine are under consideration.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Yuri Ushakov, an aide to the Russian president, declared on July 7, 2025, that peace initiatives from Europe and Ukraine do not bring lasting peace closer. He emphasized that a potential trilateral meeting involving representatives from the U.S., Russia, and Ukraine is not currently under discussion.

Ushakov further noted that he has yet to review U.S. documents following discussions with Europe and Kyiv regarding a peaceful resolution. He stressed that progress in resolving the Ukraine conflict depends on all parties adhering to agreements.

The Russian official added that Dmitriev, the president’s special representative for economic cooperation with foreign countries, will report on the outcomes of negotiations with the U.S. upon returning to Moscow.

The last direct talks between Ukrainian and Russian representatives took place in Istanbul, Turkey, in July 2025, resulting in a prisoner exchange but no significant de-escalation.
