Israeli Minister Criticizes Qatar Over Hamas Leader Assassination Attempt

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Amichai Chikli, Israel‘s Minister of Immigration from the Likud party, launched a scathing critique of Qatar on Tuesday evening, asserting that Israel’s attempt to assassinate Hamas leaders in Doha was ‘correct action.’ This comes after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu previously apologized to Qatar for the attack.
In an interview with Hebrew radio station ‘103FM,’ Chikli labeled Qatar as the ‘capital of the Muslim Brotherhood’ and an ‘unfair mediator,’ accusing the country of obstructing progress in prisoner exchange negotiations.
Chikli stated, ‘Israel acted correctly in its recent attempt to assassinate Hamas leaders in Qatar, and this is the kind of relationship that should be maintained with Qatar.’
These remarks follow an Israeli airstrike on Doha on September 9, which killed a Qatari security officer and several others, including members of Hamas leaders’ offices. Qatar condemned the attack as a blatant violation of its sovereignty and reserved the right to respond.
Following the incident, Netanyahu apologized to Qatar’s Prime Minister in a phone call on September 29, with U.S. President Donald Trump present, for violating Qatar’s sovereignty and the death of its security personnel.
The Israeli regime’s attack on Qatari soil drew widespread Arab and international condemnation, with many denouncing it as a breach of international law.
